Musings

When you care for someone deeply and show it, be warned that you might be the only one who remembers it... or the only one to whom it ever mattered.

The most noble way of dealing with hurt is to shut up, smile and let go. The most satisfying way to deal with it is to stand up to it and do something about it

I don't know what's worse- knowing that someone let you down every time, and you still forgave them because you hoped one day things would change... or realizing that there's someone you've always let down and even though things have changed, you've never forgiven yourself.

Sometimes the best way to love is by holding back.

The best form of love would be self-love. That would also be the hardest damned thing to do.

Its bad enough that the world thinks that you suck. But it can't get worse when you agree.

Pain, angst and depression can bring out the best in you. Or the worst.

You might love someone with all your heart. But there's a good chance that you might never be as good as the person that they loved with all their heart.

TDS-Moment of Zen (15th May 2008)

I love my daily dose of Comedy Central. Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and occasionally, Lewis Black and John Hodgman (I'd watch him everyday, if only they'd give him that much air time) are hilarious .
My favorite of them all is Jon Stewart because:
a.) He's a grey head, and a very sexy one.
b.) He cracke me up.
c.) He seems like one of few sensible guys left on TV.
d.) He rips apart people he doesn't like. And I usually don't like anybody who he doesn't.
e.) He's growing increasingly senile and obnoxious by the day.
f.) Had I not been taken, I'd have ----censored----- him. (It's not what you think.... or is it?)

Anyhooo, I plan to write more about my affections for him later. What I wanted to write about this thing I saw that totally cracked me up. Actually nothing that I write about it can do justice to it. So I'll just post the link to it.

For your viewing pleasure, please take a look at the president of America doing an impersonation of Dr.Evil.

It made my day. Here's hoping it'll make yours too.

The Final 2

So... Syesha Mercado is out of AI. Not that there isn't anything surprising about it- everybody knew that it would be down to the 2 Davids. It's not something that I particularly like, but I'd have been VERY surprised if it had been any other way. Still I think that this season's top 3 have been among the weakest of all seasons, a far cry from season 4, when Vonzell Solomon, Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice all seemed very deserving candidates; and someone as good as Anwar Robinson couldn't even make it to the top 5. Each contestant had something fresh to offer. However, in this season, David Cook, comes across as any other Chad Kroeger wannabe while the other David, despite being a decent singer, doesn't have anything that makes him stand out. Also, I majorly disagreed with the judges' comments this Tuesday. David Cook's rendition of "Don't Wanna Miss Thing" was, at best, OK. If you ask me, he killed a classic. So much so for trying to be a rocker. Kelly Clarkson is a better Rocker. And Syesha's 'Fever' was much better than the judges gave her credit for. All of them seemed biased against her and gave her no chance of lasting any longer.
It wasn't that there weren't any good guys this season. The good guys, just never made it. Micheal Johns' "It's all wrong, but it's all right" (Dolly Parton) is one of the best Idol performances EVER. Carly Smithson's "Jesus Christ Superstar" (Neil Diamond) was another very good performance. But Idol, has never offered much for artists who don't appeal to teeny boppers. Still, Johns is doing decent for himself. He performed at Ellen's 50th birthday party, her show's 10th anniversary, The White House Correspondents Dinner, etc. (What is Taylor Hicks doing now, btw?)

Anyhow, as much as I detest both the finalists of the season -I'll still watch the finale. My bets are on Archuleta. No matter who wins, both the David's will live anyway. Both of them will sell atleast half a million records. Either way, they'll do better than last season's top 2. WAY better.

Let's hope the next season has something better. That's probably the only thing the producers can do to do something about the flagging interest among the viewers. Or hopefully Mark Burnett will give 'Rockstar' a 3rd try.

Random thoughts in my head at the moment...

a.) UT, officially, is the best thing ever. The joy of scoring points off killing your colleagues is evil and great! And nothing beats naming the bot after BB. W even got to program her to dance! And S snipes at her. Wooo hoooo! I would love to kill her, but I can't-- she's on my team. Still, that doesn't burst my bubble. It's no wonder that all of us are itching for the next round.

b.) Sometimes all it takes to make someone happy is to give in to them.

c.) Sometimes all it takes to make many people happy is to stand up to someone.

d.) Sometimes all it takes to make yourself happy is to make your loved one happy.

e.) I love grey heads. I thought it was a phase, but 7 years is way too long to be just a "phase".

f.) After exposing her midriff, part of her breast, and canoodling with another babe, Miley Cyrus gets Hugh Hefner's thumbs up. Ha! No seriously. Ha! Thank God, she can't do 'artsy' pics for him before she's 18. Hopefully, she'll get some tan and braces before that.

g.) None of the remaining 3 idol contestants are any good. They should seriously consider a follow-up show to Rockstar supernova. Bo Bice is sooo good but sooooo wasted.

h.) I'm hungry and sleepy.

i.) I have the best brother in the world.

j.) I really need to stop blogging and check on someone.

First

This is not the first time that I'm blogging, and it's definitely not going to be my last time. I love writing. Its much better than talking. At least, there's no one to interrupt you. I hate it when people cut me off while I'm talking. Maybe the reason I'm blogging is because BB ( who is this really irritating person in my office- whose real initials would be AB but i like calling her BB which stands for B_____ Bitch) walked off from the conversation that we were having where I was trying to expose her stupidity. I hate talking to her anyway, but she ignites it all. Wouldn't you get pissed if someone told you that:

a.) She loves Hillary Clinton because she's supposedly friendly with India.

b.) She loves Legally Blonde because "it's such a you-go-girl movie". I like Legally Blonde. But that's because I think its kinky to be asked out by your teacher. And because I think Jennifer Coolidge is hilarious.

c.) She thinks people don't like Hillary Clinton because people don't like BEAUTIFUL women.

d.) She talks about this dude who stalked her. And adds that he's handsome. Also talks about a doctor who asked her if she was pregnant . And d'oh he's handsome too.

e.) She thinks it's disturbing that my best friend is 15 + years older than me. And she is friends with women who are 20 years older than her.

f.) She thinks Keith Urban is sexy.

g.) She thinks Hugh Jackman is macho in his portrayal of wolverine. (Where was Werner when I needed him! :P)

h.) She thinks that the US is in Iraq to exploit its oil resources. I do not support the war In Iraq, but her statement is plain ridiculous. I'm sure the US wouldn't be spending $52 billion/ year to make SOME cash out of the oil resources. So I told her that sometimes people come up with ludicrous theories, and that she sounded like the people who think 9/11 was staged. So she walked away saying she had work to do.

I hate talking to her. But what I hate even more is not having the last word. So I decided to blog. Just like that.
